a friend of mine recommended i check out valentine for some guilty
pleasure romantic themed television. the show centers around a family of greeks gods who see about matching soul mates- an idea that sounded like it could have had some appeal. i followed her advice and could
barely get through the first 20 minutes. so i took a break and gave it another go, managing to get
through the whole episode. verdict: it's prettty cheesy and not my
cup of tea. but if you love the hammy picture perfect lovey dovey type
stuff, check it out.
i did find one thing interesting, however. i was excited about jaime murray's return to television after her turn as the sadistic mistress on last season's dexter. instead, i found myself really enjoying the supporting actors autumn reeser and kristoffer polaha. it was their performances that kept me tuned in for an hour, making me smile when the plot and writing were veering into eye roll territory. while this show won't get a second viewing from me, i'll be watching out for those actors in the future- especially if valentine gets axed as quickly as i think it might.
